Scenes and Gestures (2015–2016) explores photography in a tourist context. The focus here is on situations and actions that point to the displaying and viewing of something unfamiliar. We see an empty landscape, cropped figures, and image frames in various shapes. Few clues are given as to specific locations or circumstances; the focus is on the relationship between people, the camera, and the environment. The image titles are inspired by compositional schemes and role classifications from film.
