LIQUID LAYERS (2015 / 2017)
(videostill)
two-channel video projection, 7:47 min
The work LIQUID LAYERS (2015 / 2017) presents scenes from a river basin, systematically divided into image and sound. By reflecting on the medium of video, it also conveys to us the unique characteristics of this habitat. Vegetation and water provide shelter for animals, while the latter serves as a central transport route, used primarily by non-motorized means. This deceleration alters perception and sharpens the senses. The invisible – accompanied by one‘s own sounds – as well as that which reveals itself to the patient eye in the silence, are the constants of everyday life. (For technical reasons, the two-channel video projection is shown as a single-channel video projection in the installation views.)
