The work deals with textile communication systems that convey meaning through color, form, and material. In addition to patterns, as found in woven fabrics, a knot can also be a carrier of meaning. The principle of knots and non-knots refers to the binary system of 1 and 0 and was used by the Quechua in their quipus / kipus. The processed hair carries my genetic material and, under the right conditions, can provide information about my organic system thousands of years later. It therefore retains information, but at the same time also refers to transience, as gray hair is also visible. The work addresses time on different levels, and thus also establishes a connection between our digital everyday life and the pre-Columbian information system of the quipus / kipus.
