In the immediate vicinity of the Braunschweig University of Art is a residential estate that was founded in 1933 by the National Socialists as Dietrich-Klagges-Stadt. During the Second World War, there was a labor camp for forced laborers there. After
the war, it was renamed Gartenstadt (garden city) and today consists of residential buildings and allotment gardens. The visual poem makes use of a play on words with the city name Braunschweig, the blue used in the middle section is one of the official party colors of the right wing AfD. This creates a link between the city‘s National Socialist past and the current political situation in Germany. The Gothic script used also has historical connotations and is symbolically freed from its burden on the last page.
